Kindly I ask critics and media everywhere to stop saying movies are “too scary that audiences couldn’t finish” or saying, “So frightening it made audiences vomit”, just stop that. It is a doing a great disservice to the genre, and at best you’re just angering any person planning to watch it.

Horror films are meant to be scary, it’s their purpose, implying that a movie is so scary that it can’t be finished is like telling a fan of Elton John “his concert was so good that I puked and walked out”. It just sounds ridiculous.

The biggest offender of this might be streaming services. They seem to constantly do this as a clickbait way to get people to watch their original movies. It doesn’t work. It’s transparent and lazy.

I understand the intention behind it, I truly do, but please just find a better way of conveying the message.

Seriously, any other way is a better way than that.

Thank you.
